Our AADHRIT Lab is designed to test and demonstrate the real-time operation of Micro/Smart Grid solutions developed by the research group.

Vision

To have AC-DC Micro-grid setup that works in islanded as well as grid connected mode to make smooth power transition, improving energy resiliency, safety, operational surety, higher efficiency and building eco-friendly society.

Mission

To integrate the local generation sources and lead in promoting the hybrid AC-DC Micro-grid that has inherent resiliency, surety in operation, safety and carbon-free society.

Objectives

A. Research Objective:

  • To develop intelligent tools for robust and efficient operation of smart hybrid AC-DC distribution systems.
  • To develop a cyber physical infrastructure that controls the physical system dynamics and at the same time maintains the stability of the physical and cyber energy systems.
  • To validate advanced control techniques in real time scenarios with a laboratory prototype.
  • HIL and PHIL validation of system response in laboratory prototype

B. Educational Objective:
The results of the research objectives will feed into the work to pursue educational objectives:

  • To develop a new elective courses in smart grid.
  • To enhance effectiveness of undergraduate and graduate students in problem-based learning and hands-on experiments using AADHRIT laboratory.
