Possible Ethnographies of ‘Science and Religion’: An Exercise in Anthropology of the Moderns
On April 13, 2026, at 2:00 PM, the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu hosted a talk titled “Possible Ethnographies of ‘Science and Religion’: An Exercise in Anthropology of the Moderns” as part of the Manthan Series (Chapter 14).
Led by Dr. Renny Thomas from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Bhopal, the session examined the relationship between science and religion through an anthropological lens. Dr. Thomas highlighted how modern societies navigate knowledge systems and belief structures.
